As we’ve discussed, getting to know your pain and how it shows up for you is an important first step in learning how to better manage your chronic pain condition. Below, we introduce skills that will help you do just this. These skills are designed to help you practice relaxation, switch off your body’s stress response, and improve your sleep. As with all new skills, you’ll need to practice these strategies regularly to notice the benefits. They may feel odd, even unhelpful, at first. This is normal, so we encourage you to stick with them.
