As we’ve discussed, getting to know your pain and how it shows up for you is an important first step in learning how to better manage your chronic pain condition. Below, we introduce skills that will help you do just this. These skills are designed to help you monitor your symptoms and set some solid goals to guide you in the weeks to come. As with any new skill, these strategies will require practice. You might find them challenging, even frustrating, at first. This is completely normal. Continue your practice and you’ll notice improvement over time.
